Multiple tuned mass dampers (MTMD) are structure control systems that composed by many masses, dampers and springs. The purpose of MTMD is to make the natural frequency of MTMD tuned with that of the main structure for changing the dynamic characteristics of the main structure. MTMD can reduce the dynamic response and increase the safety and availability of the main structure. Many schemes for designing optimal parameters of MTMD have been proposed and developed very well. However, there are few researches compare and analyze the difference among these schemes. Therefore, this thesis shall propose a new optimal parameter design scheme and compare the proposed scheme with two well developed schemes, Igusa and Xu's scheme and Lin and Yang's scheme. We will discuss the results of structural vibration control, time complexity and practical among the three schemes. The thesis can help us to understand the shortcomings and advantages of these three schemes.
