摘要: The Analysis of Business Scope and Competitive Advantage Thesis Abstract The theory of organization boundaries has been an essential issue for business operation. As an enterprise chooses to enter a particular industry, the firm would first outline the business scope of its operation in order to facilitate the following strategies, and thus strengthen its competitive advantage. The prior research, however, is dominated by transaction cost economics and related exchange-efficiency perspectives. Despite its importance, it is time to conduct a more and deeper perspective of organization boundaries. The present research attempts to take a qualitative approach to this interesting yet less explored issue by investigating corporate of a local business group— InnoLux, Corp., aiming to gain further understandings of the theory of organization boundaries. The recent research first analyzes the structure of the TFT-LCD industry and then analyzing the corporate development of InnoLux, Corp., including corporate strategies and a series of following actions. The aim of this research program is meant for figuring out its strategic decision-making thoughts implied in the operating scope, as well as the reasons that differentiate the competitive advantage derived from its organization boundaries and its competitors. The research finds out the decisive point of InnoLux, Corp.'s competitive advantage and develops its concepts into a rule that is of use. Based on the detailed analysis of InnoLux, Corp.'s organization boundaries, the research group finds that the formation of competitive advantage is attributed to a mixture of numerous aspects. Competitive advantage of business arises from the causal ambiguity of different concepts and the synergy of them. Formulation of organization boundaries needed all levels of analyses, dynamic establishment and process approach to help the firm get the formation of competitive advantage. 組織營運範疇理論對於企業之營運是相當重要的研究議題,當企業選擇進入某一產業,必須先勾勒其營運範疇,以利於後續一連串之策略活動進行,以形成其競爭優勢。然而,過去的研究理論大多以交易成本觀點去檢視其經營範疇,著重於交易面之考量,但對於其他可能影響企業經營範疇之界定的相關因素,鮮少被提出與研究。近期之學者對於組織範疇提出了更深廣之看法,認為除了透過其交易觀點制定其企業營運範疇,應必須提升其分析層次以探究其營運範疇。本研究發現目前此議題較少被深入討論。本研究擬以國內著名企業-群創光電-其組織範疇制定決策,進行深度質化分析,期能對於企業組織範疇制定背後之邏輯,提出加值的見解。 本研究首先針對TFT-LCD面板產業,提出產業結構分析,再解析其群創光電之營運策略與後續一連串策略活動,尋找其組織營運範疇制定決策內所隱含之策略思維。所衍生出之競爭優勢形成與其異於競爭者的營運範疇有何關係?探索群創營運範疇與競爭優勢形成之思維中其真正意涵。同時更深入發現組織營運範疇理論之意義,建立其組織營運範疇加值之觀點。 透過此一分析過程,本研究發現,競爭優勢之形成,來自非單一組織範疇觀點制定之過程。競爭優勢來自於不同觀點間所產生之因果模糊性與綜效而形成的組織營運範疇。組織營運範疇之制定,需透過各個分析層級進行探究,並透過動態且具程序方式建立其企業組織營運範疇,以達企業競爭優勢之建立。 關鍵詞:組織範疇;競爭優勢;TFT-LCD產業;個案研究
