摘要: 本研究利用文獻考證、檢視模式標本、觀察新鮮材料之外部形態、葉部、花粉與種子微細形態及地理分布等資料,針對臺灣木槿屬 (Hibiscus L.) 植物進行分類研究。結果顯示在托葉形狀、毛狀物類型、花冠形狀、花萼裂片及副萼裂片形態為區別木槿屬植物種間之重要特徵;在雄蕊數量、花粉粒大小、雌蕊長度、柱頭顏色及胚珠數量可以區分至組 (section) 的階層。在生態分布方面,分為廣泛分布型及局部分布型,亦可作為鑑識輔助的特性。本研究之結果將臺灣木槿屬植物處理為8個分類群,分別為大麻槿 (H. cannabinus L.)、印度山芙蓉 (H. indicus (Burm. f.) Hochr.)、劉氏山芙蓉 (H. liui C. H. Ou, Y. H. Tseng & H. Y. Liu)、牧野氏山芙蓉 (H. makinoi Y. Jotani & H. Ohba)、刺芙蓉 (H. surattensis L.)、木槿 (H. syriacus L.)、臺灣山芙蓉(H. taiwanensis S. Y. Hu) 及黃槿 (H. tiliaceus L.)。其中大麻槿為臺灣新歸化植物;全緣葉美麗芙蓉 (H. indicus (Burm. f.) Hochr. var. integrilobus (S. Y. Hu) K. M. Feng) 因其葉部形態變異屬種內範圍之內,故處理為印度山芙蓉之同物異名;確認臺灣並無木芙蓉 (H. mutabilis L.) 野生族群之分布,臺灣東部所產之分類群,其形態特徵經與西表島及石垣島所採之新鮮標本比對後,確認為牧野氏山芙蓉 (H. makinoi Y. Jotani & H. Ohba);劉氏山芙蓉花冠鐘形、副萼裂片卵形,明顯與其它分類群不同,將其處理為新種。在臺灣山芙蓉之原始發表文獻引證集模式標本中,存放於美國國家標本館,採集編號為Wilson 10831 (館號US00901676) 之標本,其副萼裂片呈現卵形,並非原始發表文獻中的線形,且其他特徵皆與印度山芙蓉相符,確認此份標本應為印度山芙蓉;另一份存放於阿諾德植物園標本館之集模式標本,編號Wilson 10836 (館號A00052835),符合臺灣山芙蓉原始文獻記載。
