|標題:||Morphological Differentiation of Flower Buds in Ponkan Trees|
Flower bud differentiation in Ponkan trees started in early November at Tichung area. There was an acceleration of cell division in the Ponkan bud-apex. Coupled with this was an extension of vacuolation and cell enlargement acropetally from the maturing pith region into the apex. The broadening and thickening of the floral apex indicated the first differentiation of the floral Parts. After further growth the propertional size of the central parenchymatous core increased and flower primordia were formed in acropetal sequence. The calyx was first to be formed. The petal originated next after the calyx, and was followed in turn by the stamens and pistil.
