Effect of different compost on oil tea plant growth and soil properties

|摘要:||油茶 (Camellia spp.)為一臺灣新興油料作物，現今擬推廣將休耕稻田轉作油茶園，以供應市場需求，並減少休耕地面積。本試驗將小果油茶 (C. brevistyla (Hayata) Coh.-Stuart)定植於中興大學北溝稻田轉作油茶園，以有機栽培管理方式搭配茶渣堆肥、樹皮堆肥和牛糞堆肥三種基肥與0、5、10和20公噸/公頃四種級距，研究目的為透過調查油茶苗生長情況與土壤分析，盼得一適合稻田轉作油茶園之栽培方式。試驗結果顯示，2015年2月種植之油茶苗，因受蟲害和連續降雨影響，茶渣堆肥5、10和20公噸處理之死亡率最高；2015年11月種植之油茶苗，以茶渣堆肥5公噸處理之死亡率較高，然而茶渣堆肥10公噸處理，卻有最高株高。田間土壤分析結果顯示，栽培12個月後，有機質的施用，使pH值先下降後上升、電導度先上升後下降，以樹皮堆肥5公噸pH值最低、茶渣堆肥及樹皮堆肥20公噸和牛糞堆肥20公噸電導度最高。土壤有機質含量以樹皮堆肥20公噸最高，其餘各處理介於2.0-2.4%，土壤保水力在茶渣堆肥、樹皮堆肥和牛糞堆肥10與20公噸有顯著上升。陽離子交換能力以茶渣堆肥5公噸和樹皮堆肥5公噸有顯著上升，總氮含量以茶渣堆肥10和20公噸及樹皮堆肥最高，總磷含量以茶渣堆肥和樹皮堆肥最高。對於適合稻田轉作油茶園之栽培方式，不建議施用茶渣堆肥。建議樹皮堆肥和牛糞堆肥，若土壤有機質含量大於2%，可以不施。|
Oil tea (Camellia spp.) is an emerging crop in Taiwan. In order to cope with the demand of the market and decrease the area of short-term fallow, the built of paddy-converted oil tea garden is the aim of this thesis. In the Agriculture Experiment Station of National Chung Hsing University at Beiguo, the oil teas (C. brevistyla (Hayata) Coh. - Stuart) were grown organically with three basal fertilizers: tea leaf compost (TLC), bark compost (BC), cow manure compost (CMC), and with four levels of 0, 5, 10, 20 t/ha. The experimental object are to find the proper cultivation methods of oil tea through the survey of the plant growth condition and the analysis of soil. The results of the experiment showed, among the seedlings planted at Feb/2015 the mortality of 5, 10 and 20t TLC/ha treatments were higher due to insect attack and continuous rainfall. As to the seedlings planted at Nov/2015, the mortality of 5t TLC/ha treatment was the highest, but the relative growth rate of 10t TLC/ha treatment was the highest. The results of the soil analysis showed, after 12 months of planting, organic fertilizers increased pH value at the begin then decreased, and the EC value decreased at the begin then increased. The pH value of 5t BC/ha is the lowest. The EC values of all TLC, 20t BC/ha, 20t CMC/ha were higher. The soil organic matter contents of 20t BC/ha was the highest, the other treatments were about 2.0-2.4%. The water holding capacities of all TLC, 10 and 20t BC/ha, 10 and 20t CMC/ha had increased significantly. The cation exchange capacities of 5t TLC/ha and 5t BC/ha had increased significantly. The total nitrogen contents of 10 and 20t TLC/ha and all BC were higher. The total phosphorus contents of all TLC and all BC were higher. It is suggested that the proper cultivation methods of the built of paddy-converted oil tea garden is not to use the tea leaf compost. In term of bark compost and cow manure compost, it can be used in, or not use, but the soil organic matter is supposed to be more than 2%.
