近年自由化與全球化的經濟發展,企業走向大型化、多元化、專業化的運作模式,集團企業成為市場上舉足輕重的角色,而創新活動是當今企業生存不可或缺的主要元素,集團企業所擁有之豐富人力及技術資源,正是提升創新能力的重要關鍵。過去文獻多半探討企業集團化和創新績效間之直接關係,未考慮集團企業之特質在其中的影響。因此,本研究擬由多角化、知識外溢、外部依賴及國際化四方面,探討這些特性在集團影響創新績效下所扮演的角色。本研究探討民國97年至99年在台上市上櫃之企業,實證結果發現集團聯屬企業的創新績效較獨立公司佳,且在國際化程度較高的情形下,集團聯屬對企業創新績效的助益有較佳的效果,而在集團企業中,知識外溢程度較高的集團有較佳的創新績效,集團之非相關多角化程度則會對創新績效來負向的效果。此研究結果,除可彌補過去文獻關於集團企業與創新績效間關係之不足,亦可作為管理者在制定或研擬公司決策時之參考。

As time passes by, the role of business group has become more important. In order to compete with other company, firms have to broaden their business scale by innovation, which can get a lot of support by group affiliation. This paper, therefore, plans to explore under certain circumstances does business groups promote the innovation performance.Based on a sample of firms listed on Taiwan Securities Exchange over the period of 2008 to 2010, the empirical result shows that (1) There is a positive relationship between group affiliation and innovation performance. (2) Group affiliation promotes more in firms that with high internationalization scale. (3) Knowledge spillover is positively related to group innovation performance. (4) Unrelated diversity is negatively related to group innovation performance.The results of this paper not only compensate the shortage of previous studies in the relationship of business groups and innovation performance, but also help the managements of firm making their decisions.
