There is an inseparable interaction Among IC design service companies, IC designers, and IC foundries in Taiwan. In order to cultivate potential clients in the future, IC foundries usually control the IC design service companies by strategic alliance, becoming a holding company, or establish wholly-owned subsidiaries. Whether former long-term accumulated cooperation implication, trust, and learning systems among organizations enhance cooperation intensity or not. Or whether similar corporative or organizational culture, value, and managerial modes enhance collaborative relationship or not. Mutual interaction and evolution of environment and industry is a significant issue worthy to be discussed deeply.
The study adopts Transaction cost theory, Resource-Based Theory, and the theories of Co-Evolution to discuss the evolution of relationship among IC foundries, IC design service companies, and IC designers in semiconductor Industry. This research observes the phenomenon of evolution among IC foundries, IC designers, and IC design service companies in Taiwan, and the co-evolution with the environment. This research collects primary and secondary data of Taiwan semiconductor industry and the target company, and uses qualitative research methods to intensify the logicality of the inference.
This research tried to comprehend the interaction of resource and capability between Faraday and its external vertical partner, and the evolution of cooperative relationship due to the change of industrial environment and organizational capability. Furthermore, we discuss the phenomenon of co-evolution between industrial environment and the enterprises.
Co-evolution regards the two sides of transaction as partner of learning mutually, and not just a object of negotiated price or the source of external resource. In addition to the obtainment and control of resource, they place higher importance on the connection of the resource and membership in both sides. The two parties have the same strategic goals, by way of share and trust mechanism, both sides continually investing in relational specific assets to intensify the connection. Thus resource, capability, and the industrial environment co-evolved and make a win-win situation.

台灣積體電路 (Integrated Circuit, IC) 設計服務業者、IC設計與晶圓代工廠三者緊密的互動關係中,為了培養具有潛力的未來客戶,晶圓代工廠往往透過策略聯盟、入股或獨立成立子公司的方式,掌握IC設計服務業者。廠商之間是否因過去長期累積的合作默契、信任、與組織之間的學習機制而提升合作強度,或是由於同樣的公司與組織文化、價值、與管理方式而增強合作關係,其環境與產業間彼此相互演變是一個值得深入探討的課題。
