dc.description.abstract | In this study, Semantic Web (SW) technologies provide the key solutions to assist the operations of business process management (BPM) systems for the tourism enterprises. We proposed a novel framework for developing the ‘Semantic Web of Tourism (SWoT)', which makes it possible to offer adequate solutions for mapping the human interactions into a serial of machine-based procedures. Basically, we assume that the operational environment of SWoT has been established with a highly trustful partnership among different organizations in a specific electronic tourism market. By managing knowledge-based business process, the primary contribution of SWoT is the designs of the necessary modules and knowledge bases for the integration of tourism business. To a market alliance in the tourism domain, the SWoT may expand the functions of each tourism enterprise's BPM system for handling the unstructured message and context information through modeling and generating the semantics of human know-how in tourism domains. The applicative scope and limitations of SWoT are also discussed in order to evaluate its advantages and disadvantages for the tourism enterprises. | en_US |
