臺灣土雞對肉用雞產業來說十分重要,若能提高土雞之市佔率,便能增進其競爭力與經濟效益。不過,臺灣土雞種類眾多,且生產方式也與白肉雞不盡相同,故生產過程中所面臨的問題必然有所差異。故本調查欲了解目前種土雞場的運作方式,從生產系統與生產模式兩個方面進行調查,並從中找尋生產過程中的問題與解決方法。本研究以現場訪問的方式進行,由中華民國養雞協會提供願意受訪的種土雞場名單,最終訪問四家種土雞場。訪問內容主要為雞場環境、雞舍設備、種雞來源、飼養管理作業、雛雞銷售與生產成績等項目。調查結果顯示,臺灣種土雞場受限於土地狹小,故無法以理想的方式設置種雞場與孵化場,不過可經由符合生物安全的動線規劃來降低汙染的風險。在設施方面,某些雞場防鳥網與防鼠作業效果不彰,以使用粗鍍鋅網包覆雞舍的效果最佳。而孵化機溫控問題,以國產孵化機最為嚴重,值得深入研究。在飼養管理與人工授精部分,每場各時期種雞的飼養與作業方式均不相同,也許可建立針對商用土雞的標準作業程序。對於防疫計畫與抗體力價檢測,應多加宣導正確的觀念及方法。最後,在生產成績方面,各場的變異很大,顯示仍有許多空間值得改善。

Taiwan Country chicken (TCC) is very important for meat chicken industry in Taiwan. If we could promote the market share, the competitiveness and economic benefit will also increase. But TCC has many kinds of strain, and the different production pattern between TCC and broiler has led to different problems in production process. The aim of this study was to survey the production system and model of Taiwan Country chicken breeder farm. We try to find the problem and feasible solutions in production process. This study carried out the survey by interviews. The Chicken Association of the Republic of China offered a list of TCC breeder farm willing to accept the interview. The interview item includes farm environment, house and facilities, breeder source, management and operation, chick marketing, and reproduction performance. The results show that breeder farm and hatchery settings are limited to small area, and led to unideal settings, but we can use appropriate operation line planning in accordance with biosafety to reduce the risk of contamination. In the facilities, some of the bird-proof netting and anti-rat systems were ineffective, but one farm using rough galvanized wire net appeared to be very effective. The temperature control of the small scale locally manufactured incubator is a challenge problem. Furthermore, the management and operation in feeding and artificial insemination were quite varied in different farms, it will be better to establish standard operating procedures. We need to advocate the correct concepts and methods for vaccination programs and titer tests. Finally, in overall performance, we found the great variation between the farms, which suggest that there is still plenty of room for improvement.
