本研究主要探討農戶種植益全香米的生產效率,分析2006年台中縣霧峰鄉地區62戶農戶訪查與耕作樣本資料,藉由資料包絡分析法(DEA),衡量各農戶之生產效率,並利用Tobit迴歸模型,分析影響效率的相關因素,以作為未來改善生產效率之參考。主要的研究結論如下:
一、 根據Mann-Whitney 效率值檢定,在兩期整體生產效率的分析中,第二期香米農戶生產效率值(0.834)高於第一期香米農戶生產效率值(0.781);第二期的純粹技術效率(0.88)較第一期(0.814)為高;而第一期與第二期的規模效率分別為0.957以及0.948,兩期的規模效率值並無顯著差異。
二、 兩期農戶香米耕作規模與純粹技術效率值之間的比較結果顯示,兩期耕作面積1甲5分地以上與5分地以下的農戶,其純粹技術效率值較高,表示農戶耕作規模較大或較小時,其純粹技術效率較高。
三、 霧峰鄉地區種植香米農戶可藉由「增加自工人數」、「參與稻作講習會」以及「透過班會提及與說明生產履歷內容」,以提升生產效率。

By adopting 62 farms operational survey data in Wu-Feng region of Taichung County during 2006 with Data Envelopment Analysis approach, this study was aimed to analyze the production efficiency of Yihchuan aromatic rice farms. And the productivity of each firm in the production process are measured and compared. Furthermore, Tobit model was applied to test the significant factors which affected production efficiency. Main empirical results are as follow.
(1) According to Mann-Whitney test, the average value of the production efficiency at the first period of Yihchuan aromatic rice farms in this region was 0.781 which was lower than the average value of same index at the second period(0.834). From the aspects of pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency, the average value of the first period pure technical efficiency was lower than the one at the second period which were 0.88. The difference between two periods can not be approved by the statistical results.
(2) Comparing the relationship of farmland and the average value of pure technical efficiency between two periods, the results found that those farms can reach higher average values of pure technical efficiency when their farmlands were above 1.5 hectare or below 0.5 hectare.
(3) The statistical results support that Yihchuan aromatic rice farms in the Wu-Feng region can improve their production efficiency level by adjusting the following factors: increasing labor input, more participation in the extension training of rice farming operation, and the more active attitude on Food traceability system in their farming groups.
