我們研究的是具有強吸收項的熱方程。我們已經知道在某個初始條件之下,會使得解在有限時間的時候產生殆核解,而這些產生殆核解的速度比一般所謂的自我相似解的速度還快。而這個計畫的目的是要去得到這些殆核解的速度。

We study the solution of the heat equation with a strong absorption. It iswell-known that the solution develops a dead-core in finite time for alarge class of initial data. It is also known that the exact dead-core rate isfaster than the corresponding self-similar rate. The main purpose of thisproject is to derive the exact dead-core rate.
