亞鐵離子活化過硫酸鹽(persulfate, S2O82-)生成硫酸根自由基(SO4-‧, E0~2.6 V)可有效氧化三氯乙烯(trichloroethylene, TCE),但此方式會受限於SO4-‧被過多亞鐵離子之存在而攫取抑制及Fe2+會快速氧化轉換為Fe3+。本研究探討以EDTA(ethylediaminetetraacetic acid)螯合Fe3+於pH 3、7、10條件下活化過硫酸鹽降解三氯乙烯之效能。
因此,於pH 10條件下,改變EDTA/Fe3+螯合比實驗結果顯示,螯合比1/1條件相較其他比例,獲得較高TCE降解速率。由不同氧化劑量實驗結果可知,較高過硫酸鹽劑量於EDTA/Fe3+螯合比1/1時能提升TCE降解速率,但若過高過硫酸鹽濃度,僅會增加過硫酸鹽之降解速率,並無法提升TCE降解速率。綜觀實驗結果得知,於ISCO之應用上以EDTA螯合三價鐵活化過硫酸鹽以降解三氯乙烯,具有發展潛力。
