Outdoor recreational activities are often affected by weather and forest recreational activities are one of them. Weather is not only a characteric in forest recreation area but also affect the number of visitors and consideration to be closed. Environmential psychology and transactional stress/coping theory point out that people will adjust their behavior when they face environmental stress. This study wanted to discuss how the weather affects forest recreational activities. The author tried to use these two theory to explain the weather influence for people taking activities in forest recreation area. The case study was in Alishan National Forest Recreation Area and questionnaire was adopted for investigation. 390 questionnaires were made and 389 valid questionnaires were obtained. The effectiveness was 99.7﹪. Descriptive statistics was used to understand the distribution of samples and weather of investing hour. Factor analysis was used to reduce the item of stress. Variance analysis was used to recognize the difference between demographic and feeling of stress and multiple regression was used to confirm the structure of this study.
According to the analysis, some conclusions were made.
1.There were postive influence of temperture and rain on stress . The lower temperature, the lower feeling of stess. When it rained, the feeling of stress rase. The sunshine had negative influence of external stress, it mean when it was sunshine, the feeling of external stress were lower.
2. There were postive influence of homefelt and external stress on coping behavior.
