葉部的分析經常使用在養分缺乏的診斷上,在森林的經營監控上佔有重要的地位,因為能夠清楚明瞭並預測森林的養分是否受到環境變異的影響。本研究以王功地區與台中港地區不同林齡木麻黃為調查對象,研究木麻黃接合小枝養分濃度在年齡與季節上的變化,並利用水耕試驗,來瞭解木麻黃在微量元素濃度變化關係與所缺乏的養分元素。試驗自2007年4月起,共採集7種不同林齡的木麻黃接合小枝與生育地土壤樣本進行養分與土壤性質分析。結果顯示,王功地區與台中港地區木麻黃生育地的土壤性質雖有差異,但仍屬於貧脊。不同林齡間木麻黃接合小枝的養分差異上,除磷與錳外,王功8年生木麻黃的養分濃度顯著高於其他林齡。除鉀、鈣與鐵外,氮、鎂、鈉、硼、鋅、銅與鉬會先隨著年齡上升而增加,在8年生時養分濃度為最高峰,隨後開始下降。磷與錳則是呈現相反情形。木麻黃接合小枝氮、鈉濃度的季節變化不太一致,但都呈現夏季時濃度最低,隨著季節推進接合小枝磷濃度逐漸降低,鉀於夏季時濃度最高,鎂、鈣則是隨著季節推進而有累積現象,鋅濃度變化與季節關係不大,硼、錳於冬季時濃度最高,銅、鐵與鉬則是冬季、春季最低。水耕試驗下,除地上部鋅濃度、鐵濃度與根部鐵濃度外,其餘組織的微量元素濃度皆會受到不同營養液處理而有影響,以完全營養液影響最大,其中Mn濃度有偏高的趨勢,可能是受到營養液較低pH值(6.2~6.5)的影響。與野外調查的木麻黃比較下,可看出野外木麻黃的微量養分大致介於完全營養液與微量減半營養液間,甚至有部份接合小枝微量養分濃度高於施用完全營養液,顯現出王功地區與台中港地區的木麻黃雖生長於養分貧脊的海岸砂地,但接合小枝微量養分仍屬正常,沒有過低或是缺乏的問題,此現象推測維持木麻黃微量養分吸收的關鍵在於菌根菌、根瘤菌等的共生效應。
