Study on the Feeding Model of Total Mixed Ration for Meat-Type Geese
The purpose of this study is to establish the feeding model of total mixed ration for meat-type geese. Two hundred and sixteen of day old White Romon goslings will be divided into four treatments and three replicates for each treatment. Four treatments include: 1. birds will be fed a concentrate diet as control during 0~14 wks of age; 2. birds will be fed growing diet with TMR during 0~8 wks of age and fed finish diet with TMR during 9~14 wks of age; 3. birds will be fed growing diet with TMR during 0~10 wks of age and fed finish diet with TMR during 11~14 wks of age; 4. birds will be fed growing diet with TMR during 0~12 wks of age and fed finish diet with TMR during 13~14 wks of age. Feed and water will be supplied adlibitum. Feed intake and body weight of each gosling will be weighed once two weeks during 0~8 wks of age and weighed once per weeks during 9~14 wks of age. At 4, 8, 12, 13 and 14 weeks of age, 2 female and 2 male goslings will be sampled from each replicate of treatments for measuring blood parameters, and then will be slaughtered for determining carcass and meat quality. The results of this study will be to evaluate the TMR for meat-type geese and to establish the feeding model of TMR.
