A total of 20 column specimens were made and tested in this study to investigate the behavior of high-workability concrete (HWC) columns under cyclic loading. Ten of the columns were made with HWC; and the rest were made with normal-workability concrete. The test variables included the concrete strength, level of axial force, strength of transverse reinforcement, and spacing of trans-verse reinforcement. The specimens were tested under constant axial force and cyclic transverse load. Comparisons were made between HWC columns and normal concrete columns. The results show that HWC columns have better ductility and energy absorption capability than normal concrete columns. In addition, the crack widths of HWC columns are smaller than those of normal concrete columns. HWC can be used to alleviate the steel congestion problem, and improve the concrete quality and the member behavior
