Night scenes algorithms, which render images of night scenes from the day scenes, become an important research subject in the recent decade. This paper presents such an efficient algorithm, taking into consideration of the influence of the focal area from the observers. We develop our algorithm using Multi-Level Night Filter and Multi-Level Gaussian Noise approaches. We also render dawn scenes using Multi-Level Day and Night Mixture approaches. In addition, we propose a tone mapping technique enabling our algorithm to support images with high dynamic range. Experimental results illustrate the benefits of our algorithm. In conclusion, the proposed algorithm extends the feasibility of the similar algorithm proposed by Thompson, producing images that are more analogous to the feature of the real world.
