dc.description.abstract在今日的網路通訊中對於服務品質保證(QoS, quality-of-service)的需求越來越重要,特別是在於無線網路系統中。在本論文中將會介紹及使用當前最廣為應用的無線區域網路標準:IEEE 802.11。由於IEEE 802.11的標準對於服務品質保證並未有相關的規範。我們將使用IEEE 802.11無線區域網路中的媒體存取控制層(MAC layer, Medium Access Control layer),來作為提供IEEE 802.11差異化的服務(Service Differentiation)。由於目前的IEEE 802.11網路設備幾乎僅提供分散式協調機制(DCF, Distributed Coordination Function)的模式,我們也針對如何在DCF模式中提供差異化服務加以探討。 在本論文中共使用了三種的差異化機制:Backoff increase function、Minimum Contention Window size (CWmin)以及 Distributed Inter Frame Space (DIFS)三種機制。除了分別對這三中機制加以分析及利用network simulator-2 (ns2)模擬,也會混合不同的機制來使用。由模擬的結果來看,各種了差異化機制是可以加以混合使用,而達到更大的差異化。zh_TW
dc.description.abstractToday''s computing environment has more and more quality-of-service (QoS) requirements, especially in wireless networking. We will present the most popular wireless network standard - the IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN. We seek to provide service differentiation in IEEE 802.11 Distributed Coordination Function (DCF) mode under Medium Access Control (MAC) layer. We simulated these differentiation mechanisms. There are three differentiation mechanisms simulated: Backoff Increase Function, Minimum Contention Window Size (CWmin) and Distributed Inter Frame Space time (DIFS). We showed the simulated results of these three differentiation mechanisms in individual and combined situations. We observed that combining two or more differentiation mechanisms increase throughput differentiation.en_US
