In this thesis, we present a novel algorithm for PAPR reduction of OFDM signals by combining the PTS technique in the minimal trellis of linear block codes. The proposed algorithm uses a given linear code, consisting of all possible weighting factors, with good minimal trellis to select the transmitted OFDM signal with minimum PAPR and to transmit the side information with error correction. The goals of this combining strategy of trellis and PTS are twofold: 1) to provide a low complexity PTS for weighting factor search and 2) to highlight the error protection capability for side information. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves good PAPR reduction with lower complexity, compared to other PTS approaches.
