摘要: 
食蛇龜(亦名黃緣閉殼龜)(Cuora flavomarginata),為CITES附錄Ⅱ之物種,目前面臨棲地開發破壞、飲食及寵物市場大量需求,各地族群數量銳減。本文以台灣地區食蛇龜甲殼形態特徵探討雌雄兩性別間差異,及其於地理分布上,是否如同基因分析結果,已產生地理分化現象,以及地理分群間差異,並嘗試由甲殼形態特徵建立判別性別或判別地理分群之模型,對於未知性別或來源的個體,提供一個判別的依據。
本研究將採集自全島之野生個體所測量而得之甲殼特徵原始值,及以背甲長標準化的比值,分別投入多變量變異數分析,並以性別及地理分區為二個主要因子,發現性別間的確有明顯差異,雌龜在體型及大部分甲殼形狀上均較雄龜大;地理分區族群間亦存在明顯差異,西南部族群體型較大,東部族群體型較小。主成份分析結果,於綜合整體甲殼特徵之條件下,不論是性別間或地理分群間,差異皆不明顯。判別分析以逐步選擇法篩選出具有判別力之重要特徵,並以其建立Fisher’s線性函數判別模型,在性別上,7個甲殼特徵之比值變數所建立的模型,判別正確率可達94%,雌龜與雄龜甲殼形狀差異主要在於腹甲後頁;在5個地理分群上,雌龜以3個甲殼特徵之比值變數所建立的模型判別正確率84.4%,雌龜以4個甲殼特徵之比值變數所建立的模型判別正確率79.55%,其中東部二個族群及西南部族群,正確率較高,北部族群及半島族群甚低。台灣食蛇龜甲殼形態變異與地理分布上的關係與遺傳變異現象不同,甲殼形態變異以東,西兩方差異較為顯著,顯示中央山脈阻隔可能為重要影響因素,且不只種系發生因素影響甲殼形態,環境因素也可能是另一要素。
