隨著可攜式電腦的普及及網際網路的進步,對於無線通訊系統的要求便越來越高,之前推出頻段2.4GHz速度為11Mb/s的IEEE 802.11b已漸漸不能滿足大眾的需求。而新一代的規格5GHz IEEE 802.11a,它主要是利用由多載波調變演變而來的正交分頻多工傳輸技術(OFDM), 能有效的對抗碼際干擾,並提供高達54Mb/s的速度。本論文主要利用Matlab進行傳送端的系統模擬,待驗證無誤後,再利用硬體描述語言(verilog)搭配TSMC 0.35um CMOS 1p4m製程去實現IEEE 802.11a傳送端部分,並針對反快速傅立葉轉換(IFFT)去作簡化以節省面積。

The demand for wireless communications system is rapidly growing with advances in portable devices and Internet services. The IEEE 802.11b with 11 Mb/s data rate in the 2.4GHz band will not be fast enough. The new standard of IEEE 802.11a that takes the advantage of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) from multi-carrier transmission technique, which can greatly overcome Inter Symbol Interference (ISI) and provides 54Mb/s data rate. In this thesis, we use MATLAB to simulate the system of IEEE 802.11a transmitter first. After verifying the system simulation, we use hardware description language (verilog) to implement the transmitter of IEEE 802.11a with TSMC 0.35um COMS 1p4m technology. The circuit structure of Inverse Fast Fourier Transform was investigated for reducing chip area.
