This study investigated about life pressure and pressure coping strategies of domestic and foreign students of Chung Hsin University. A Questionnaire was employed to collect data. Valid sample was 409 in total, with 149 for foreign students and 260 for domestic students accordingly. After data collection, a thorough analysis was made in terms of descriptive statistics, t-test and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation. The findings were described as follows:
1. Concerning life pressure, both NCHU domestic and foreign students cling to moderate low level. Foreign students rated 'academic pressure' as the highest pressure and 'family pressure' the lowest one, whereas domestic students rated 'employment pressure' as the highest one and 'emotional pressure' the lowest.
2. Concerning pressure coping strategies, both NCHU domestic and foreign students rated 'emotion-oriented positive coping strategy' as the most popular domain, whereas 'emotion-oriented negative coping strategy' the least one.
3. Under different aspects of background variable, in terms of gender, stage of study, and nationality status, NCHU students rated life pressure differently, in terms of female being greater than male, college students being greater than graduate students, and domestic students being greater than foreign students.
4. NCHU students with different stage of study applied different coping strategies toward their pressure. In other words, college students tend to have emotion-oriented negative coping strategy.
5. NCHU students with different nationality status applied different coping strategies toward their pressure. In other words, foreign students tend to have problem-oriented negative coping strategy, emotion-oriented positive coping strategy, and emotion-oriented negative coping strategy.
6. Life pressure and coping strategy were closely interrelated among NCHU students.
According to the results, several recommendations were provided for universities and future research.
