本研究綜合文獻考證、外觀形態、葉表皮形態、花粉形態、分核微形態,以及地理分布等研究,針對臺灣產冬青科 (Aquifoliaceae Bercht. & J. Presl) 冬青屬 (Ilex L.) 矮冬青節 (Section Paltoria (Ruiz et Pavon) Maxim.) 植物進行植物分類學研究。結果顯示小枝形態、葉下表皮細胞雕紋及木栓疣的有無、果實顏色可作為系階層的分類依據。雌蕊形態可作為種間的分類依據;花萼裂片與雄花序形態可區分臺灣產點葉冬青系不同分類群。
本研究將臺灣矮冬青節植物分成2系6種1變種,分別是小葉冬青系 (Series Cassinoides (Loes.) S. Y. Hu) 之長梗花冬青 (I. taiwanensis (S. Y. Hu) Li)、太平山冬青 (I. sugerokii Maxim.)、刻脈冬青 (I. pedunculosa Miq.)、小葉雲南冬青 (I. yunnanensis Fr. var. parvifolia (Hayata) S. Y. Hu),以及點葉冬青系 (Series Stigmatophorae (Loes.) S. Y. Hu) 的柃葉犬黃楊 (I. crenata Thunb. f. euryaefolia (Mori & Yamam.) Y. H. Tseng & C. H. Lin)、金平氏冬青 (I. kanehirai (Yamam.) Koidz.)、倒卵葉冬青 (I. maximowicziana Loes.)。其中柃葉犬黃楊 (I. crenata Thunb. f. euryaefolia (Mori & Yamam.) Y. H. Tseng & C. H. Lin) 為新組合。確定臺灣不產琉球冬青 (I. mutchagara Makino)、三花冬青 (I. triflora Bl.) 及高貴雲南冬青 (I. yunnanensis Fr. var. gentilis (Loes.) Rehder)。
本文提供各分類群之特徵描述、地理分布圖、彩色照片、檢索表,提供更完整的分類學資料作為植物分類的參考。

The present study was carried on the taxonomy of Ilex L. Section Paltoria (Ruiz et Pavon) Maxim. in Taiwan that was conducted of morphological features, palynology, micromorphology of leaf surface, geographic distribution, herbarium studies, and relevant literature. The results showed that branchlet morphology, leaf under surface ornamentation and fruit color can be used to differentiate two series. Pistil morphology revealed interspecific difference.Morphologies of male inflorescence and calyx lobes could be used to identify different taxa within Series Stigmatophorae (Loes.) S. Y. Hu.
Ilex L. Section Paltoria (Ruiz et Pavon) Maxim. in Taiwan was classified into 7 taxa of 2 series, namely I. taiwanensis (S. Y. Hu) H. L. Li, I. sugerokii Maxim., I. pedunculosa Miq., I. yunnanensis Fr. var. parvifolia (Hayata) S. Y. Hu in Series Cassinoides (Loes.) S. Y. Hu; I. crenata Thunb. f. euryaefolia (Mori & Yamam.) Y. H. Tseng & C. H. Lin, I. kanehirae (Yamam.) Koidz., I. maximowicziana Loes. in Series Stigmatophorae (Loes.) S. Y. Hu. Among these taxa, I. crenata Thunb. f. euryaefolia (Mori & Yamam.) Y. H. Tseng & C. H. Lin was treated as a new combination. The previously reported I. mutchagara Makino, I. yunnanensis Fr. var. gentilis (Loes.) Rehder and I. triflora Bl. were excluded from Taiwan.
This paper provided descriptions, distribution maps, color plates, keys of all taxa, to serve as taxonomy reference.
